Hatsune Miku invades British television


In what may well be the greatest amount of BBC exposure in recent years ever given to an anime-related phenomenon that has nothing to do with Miyazaki or Beckki Cruel, BBC’s ‘The One Show’ aired a 2 minute feature to the virtual idol Hatsune Miku, which was later re-aired on ‘The Culture Show’ after Newsnight.

Interestingly, this seems to be the first time that international mainstream media have managed to understand what the craze is all about, and not dismissed it as a mere singing hologram, like other recent news coverage.
