Ghost in the Shell: SAC movie getting glorious 3D

It seems as if the recent boom of 3D has finally hit the Anime industry, as Production IG are currently planning on hitting cinemas with a revamped streoscopic 3D rendition of it’s 2006 film, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex: Solid State Society. Gunning for the position of most needlessly long film title of all time once again, the feature length movie will have a brand new opening sequence, with the rest of the film magically turned into 3D via computer wizardry. The marketing spiel rather tritely admonishes fans that “with the all-new never-before-seen opening the audience will feel like they’ve become cyborgs themselves!”

The movie opens in Japan on the 26th of March 2011.
